Most of the college pass outs or fresher always remains searching for a simple résumé formats. So as to meet their need the sample résumé format is made available here.

The sample résumé format is prepared by using the tips that have been mentioned in the earlier topic i.e. “Writing a résumé (https://edudaps.in/2019/01/04/writing-a-resume/)”.

Before applying for any job everyone has to be ready with his or her own résumé.

“Résumé is nothing but the summary or basic information of an individual about his or her education, achievements, extra curricular activities, skills etc.”. It should be of 1 or 2 pages. It Should summarize all your information.

Résumé should always be accompanied with the covering letter. (refer notes on covering letter here: https://edudaps.in/2020/07/05/covering-letter/ ).

How Resume can be Formatted?

Page Layout:

Use the Normal (i.e. 1 inch) Page Margin. Use the page orientation as ‘Portrait” and page size should be A4. Do the proper page border. Keep the spacing “before” and “after” as “6 pt”. Keep the spacing between the lines at “1 pt”.

Heading:

Mention the appropriate heading for the respective job application.

Font:

Use the “Times New Roman” or “Calibri” or “arial” font. Do not multiple fonts in a single résumé. Use only single font. Font style should be “regular” and font size should either be “11” or “12”.

Use of Table:

Make use of table wherever it is required.

Use of bullet and numbering:

Use the proper bullet style and numbering style at appropriate place.

Photo:

Many people are having a habit of placing the photo on the résumé. Do not place the photo on the résumé.

Whenever you are applying for the job; send the PDF copy of your résumé. Do not share your résumé in any other format unless and until recruiter asks for it. PDF can be easily shared and can be easily printed.

Most of the time people use the résumé of their friends or colleagues and copy the same by replacing few things. Its better that you can prepare your own résumé because nobody knows about you better than you. So just write your own resume.

Freshers always think that for applying to any vacancy or position; experience is required but it is nothing like that if you are shortlisted for any vacancy and you are a fresher then recruiter will never ask you for your experience. Recruiter will check and will try to confirm that whatever you have mentioned in your résumé is true and you are familiar with the things that you have mentioned on the résumé.

So do not try to exaggerate on your résumé or do not try to fool the recruiter.

Good Luck !!!!!!! 🙂
